Fellsmere is a city in Indian River County. The population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau was 4,658. Founded in 1911, Fellsmere is located only 4 miles off of I-95 on Hwy 512. Named for E. Nelson Fell, a 1913 land sales brochure describes the city's unusual name as a combination of the founder's name Fell and the word mere, which means "a watery place".

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.4 square miles, of which .1 square miles is water (1.85%).

Fellsmere is home to the Fellsmere Frog Leg Festival held the third week in January. With over 100 crafters, midway rides and plenty of games it’s fun for the entire family! Frog Leg and Gator Tail Dinners are the main fare but there is also a huge variety of other festival foods available.
Fellsmere Day, is held the first Saturday in April with a parade, a bed race and a variety of family-orientated activities.
